FAQ
Are all products on The LA Facialist authentic and authorized?
Every single product on thelafacialist.comis 100% authentic and sourced directly from the brands we carry. We have built personal relationships with every brand in our collection. We are authorized retailers for iS Clinical, SkinBetter Science, Environ, Jan Marini, Cyspera, Plated Skin Science, Epicutis, DMK, and every other brand on our site. You will never receive a diverted, expired, or counterfeit product from us. That is a guarantee I stake my professional reputation on.
Why should I buy from The LA Facialist instead of Amazon, Dermstore, or Sephora?
Because you're not just buying a product. You're getting access to the same professional curation I provide to my clients in studio. Every product on this site has been tested in my treatment room, used on real skin, and vetted against hundreds of alternatives before it earned a place here. Marketplaces carry thousands of products. I carry the ones that actually work. If you need guidance, our team of trained aestheticians is available for virtual consultations to build a protocol specific to your skin. That level of expertise is something no marketplace can offer.
How does Candace choose which brands and products to carry?
I only carry what I would use on my own clients and on my own skin. Every brand goes through the same evaluation: I look at the science behind the formulations, the quality and concentration of active ingredients, the clinical results I see when I use it in treatments, and whether it fills a real need that nothing else in our collection addresses. If a product doesn't perform in my treatment room, it doesn't make it onto the site. That's why we carry a focused, curated selection rather than hundreds of brands. Quality over quantity, always.
I'm new to medical-grade skincare. Where should I start?
A good cleanser, one targeted treatment serum, a moisturizer, and an SPF. That's it. If you're not sure which products are right for you, browse our collections by concern: we have curated selections for Acne, Anti-Aging, Hyperpigmentation, Barrier Support, Dry Skin, Oily Skin, and Redness/Sensitive Skin. Each collection features the products I reach for most in my studio for that specific concern. If you'd prefer personalized guidance, our team offers virtual consultations where we'll assess your skin and build a routine tailored to your needs.
Can I use these products if I have sensitive skin or rosacea?
Absolutely. Sensitive and rosacea-prone skin is one of the most common concerns I treat in my studio, and we carry several products specifically formulated for reactive complexions. Epicutis Lipid Serum is my go-to for rebuilding a compromised barrier. iS Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum soothes and hydrates without triggering flare-ups. SkinBetter Science Mystro uses adaptogenic ingredients to help skin manage stress and reduce visible redness. BIOMECULT addresses sensitivity at the microbiome level. And Jan Marini RosaLieve was designed specifically for chronic redness and flushing. Browse our Redness + Sensitive collection for the full selection.
How do I build a complete skincare routine from your products?
Every effective routine follows the same basic framework.
Step 1: Cleanse (remove impurities without stripping).
Step 2: Tone or prep (optional but beneficial for exfoliation and pH balance).
Step 3: Treat (serums and actives targeting your primary concern).
Step 4: Moisturize (lock in hydration and support the barrier).
Step 5: Protect (SPF every morning, non-negotiable). For the eye area, add a dedicated eye treatment between steps 2 and 3. The specific products depend on your skin and your goals. Our Build Your Routine page walks you through curated routines for Anti-Aging, Brightening, Acne, and Sensitive Skin with specific product recommendations at each step

Can I book a virtual consultation for personalized recommendations?
Yes. Our trained aestheticians offer virtual consultations where we assess your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and build a customized product protocol for you. Whether you're dealing with acne, aging, hyperpigmentation, sensitivity, or simply want to establish an effective routine, we'll provide tailored recommendations based on your individual needs. You can book a virtual consultation directly on our website at thelafacialist.com/pages/virtual-consultation.
Can I visit The LA Facialist studio in Beverly Hills?
Absolutely. Our Beverly Hills studio is where it all started. Every facial begins with a thorough assessment of your skin concerns and needs. We then tailor the products, masks, and add-ons to create a treatment made just for you. All of our custom treatments include extractions and our signature deep tissue sculpting facial massage, developed by me. Treatments run 75-90 minutes at a flat rate. You can book online through our website or contact us at 310-739-9997 to schedule an appointment.
What's the difference between a virtual consultation and shopping on the website?
Shopping the website is self-guided. You browse by concern, brand, or category and choose products based on the descriptions and your own research. A virtual consultation is guided by a professional. Our aesthetician evaluates your skin, asks about your history, current routine, lifestyle, and goals, and then prescribes a specific protocol with products in the right order and concentration for your skin. If you know what you need, the website is efficient. If you're unsure, dealing with multiple concerns, or have sensitive/reactive skin that requires careful product selection, the consultation is worth it.
