Squalane is close in structure to the skin's own lipids, so it absorbs rather than sitting on the surface, and it does not clog pores. On oily skin, replacing the lipids that aggressive cleansing strips can reduce the rebound that drives shine. On dry skin it supplies what is missing outright. The gold flakes are a light diffuser rather than an active.

Best for skin that reads oily and dehydrated at once. Ideal as the final step of a routine, applied over moisturizer rather than under it, since an oil laid down first will block whatever follows.
