Sunscreen used to sort of be an after-thought for many of us back in the day. Okay.  Maybe it was just me. In the last decade we’ve learned so much about the importance and absolute necessity for sunscreen —every day. And, if you’re very diligent, then you’ll use it more than once a day!

I’ve consulted with friend and skin expert Candace Marino, celebrity Aesthetician The LA Facialist for her top picks. Plus, I’ve added some of my own favorites.

I’m a big fan of tinted sunblocks for daytime use in lieu of makeup. I’ve included some of those. I wanted to provide a variety of application methods — sprays, compacts, and creams. There’s something for everyone. Stay protected and safe this summer and enjoy your sun time responsibly!

All time favorite sunscreen is Extreme Protect Sspf 30 by iS Clinical. It’s more than a sunscreen, it’s an anti-aging and moisturizing skin treatment packed with antioxidants, making it’s a wonderful multitasking product for minimalists.

CANDACE PICK #2

SkinBetter SunBetter smart tone SPF 68 compact. This is the product that has all of my clients throwing out their makeup. This tinted spf blends flawlessly onto most skin tones, blurs imperfections and leaves the skin with a dewy finish, plus it makes reapplying a no-brainer.

** I use this one and love it. It’s the exact tone for me, but seems to work with a lot of varying skin tones. It’s no mess, easy application and easy to throw in your bag.

CANDACE PICK #3

SuperGoop! Glow screen- this is everything dreams are made of for anyone who likes a glow, this sunscreen contains SPF 40, hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to hydrate & doubles as a makeup primer.

Expert advice: I actually use all three of these daily (if I’m getting ready) I layer them: Is clinical as my moisturizer, Glow screen as my highlighter/primer, Skinbetter as my makeup

HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36

HYDRATINT PRO MINERAL BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN SPF 36

This is my daily use sunscreen. It’s float, smooth, and has a clean scent. It also has all the benefits of a great skin cream. I find that I don’t need any makeup after this is applied.

EltaMD UV Elements Broad-Spectrum SPF 44

ELTAMD UV ELEMENTS BROAD-SPECTRUM SPF 44

I rotate between this, the Alastin and the Skin Better+ Science. I use the creams under and double up with my compact. The EltaMD has been recommended time and time again by Dermatologists for sensitive skin. It comes in tinted and non tinted versions. Also comes in an oil-free version. Elta is a trusted and reliable brand that I return to often.

La Roche Posay was actually my first ever “posh” sunscreen I purchased. I remember vividly loving this bronze glow it gave me. This was years ago. They’ve only gotten better at the sunscreen game. This sunblock can be used on face and body. Basically making it much more convenient. It’s a jack of all trades for that reason.

Coola is a long trusted brand for organic products. This one comes in two tropical scents that scream vacation. When you’re spraying product on yourself or your babies, don’t you want to feel confident knowing it’s 100% organic, they coin it “farm to face” and I love that. It’s a thicker sunscreen but it sprays on clear. It’s also safe for adults and children leaving you less to pack.

Another fantastic organic option is the Soliel Toujours. I discovered this on vacation at the overpriced gift shop. I got it because it was the only option available but, now I see why. They bring you the best in class in the organic, clear spray mist sunscreen game. Free of the common harmful chemicals you find in aerosols. I also got an amazing tan with this brand. Am I allowed to admit that I tan? Well I just did.

Last but certainly not least, product for the “bebe’s”. I linked the adult version up top, but worth noting Super Goop makes one for little people too. This product checks all the boxes. Pediatrician tested, fragrance and silicone free, and hypo allergenic. Can you Sunscreen do that?
